GOAL SETTING

If you landing on this blog in this particular moment in your journey, I Am confident in saying ‘ you’re ready sissy. You’re finally done with floating through life by default. Crossing your fingers and hoping that things will work out in your favour (that used to be me). You’ve watched the workshops, devoured the self-help books, maybe even scribbled dreams in a notebook; but nothing stuck, you are still circling for something. What? A goal-setting tool based on biblical principles and promises straight from the source (not resources).
In this article sissy, I Am going to show you how to stop hustling trying to make something stick that Father never meant for you. I will show what happens when you stop trying to please and align yourself with the world. “Are you aligned with Him?”
I became a dedicated student of growth and development after diving into Jim Rohn’s teachings and combining that with my rebirth in Christ a short while later. I’ve seen the truth, I’ve lived in His truth and now it’s your time little sister. Having and thinking of your goals just isn’t enough. You must write them down, align them with God, and build a foundation that lasts. The majority of entrepreneurs who struggle aren’t failing because they lack skill or creativity; the truth is they’re in the valley. Maybe they are failing, perhaps they’re just gaining more skills to better equip them for their promise. But one thing is for sure, you haven’t yet anchored them to thee Kingdom; and it’s time we start there sissy.
And as I always say... Take what you need and leave what you don't. This is just my testimony I'm called to share with you.
Partnering with God on Purpose, Not by Default
You weren’t created to drift, let’s get that straight. You were created to praise and serve Father and help give heaven expression. Too many of us partner with God by accident instead of by intention. We wait until everything collapses, then suddenly remember to pray when everything goes wrong. But true success starts when you walk with Him, not just to Him. You can’t ask God to bless plans He wasn’t invited into. Partner on purpose; write with Him beside you, not as a last resort or after-thought when things fall apart.
Reflection Prompt:
“Lord, show me the mission You planted in my heart. Am I writing goals for trend or for Your voice?”
Remember to Align Your Mission and Vision with Your Spirit
If you keep circling the same mountains and calling it “progress,” sissy check your GPS baby; it’s not your purpose, it’s your pattern. The reason you keep hitting walls isn’t because you’re lazy or unlucky (not to mention - there is no such thing as luck) it’s because you’re following trends, not your spirit. Father equipped us modern woman a blueprint, roadmap (if you will) to life here on earth. The ancient, the Word (the Bible) and His spirit he whispered inside each and everyone of us. The Holy Spirit isn’t an influencer; He’s an instructor, baby He’s the Creator Himself, He’s thee Content Creator. Your mission and vision must come from within, not from whatever’s viral this week. Allow yourself to sit still long enough to ask, “What does my soul actually want from me?” If it’s easier for you, think of Father as evergreen, His ways are always trending. Then move from that place.
“What does my spirit whisper during quiet moments? How does that align with what I’ve written down as my mission?”
How Are You Serving God and His Children with Your “Why”?
Your “why” isn’t just your motivation — it’s your ministry. If your goals don’t serve someone beyond yourself, they’re not Kingdom goals; they’re comfort goals. God measures success differently. He’s not impressed by how high you climb, or what you can purchase in this world. He’s watching who you lifted on the way up. Ask yourself, “Who benefits when I obey?” Because your purpose will always have fingerprints bigger than your own.
“In five years, who will have been helped because I set this goal? What Kingdom ripple does this create?”
You Know Nothing (If You Did, You Would Have Been Abundantly Successful By Now)
“For the god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ…” — 1 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)
You don’t know as much as you think you do. Neither do I, with countless certificates, diplomas and 1.9 university degrees with 20 years of post secondary education. Allow me to be the first to tell you, the knowledge and wisdom of this world is chump change to the Word and Wisdom of God. Every time we rely on the world’s logic over God’s wisdom, we trade revelation for repetition. That’s the main reason it took them 40 years in the desert as oppose to the 2 week travel time. The world will tell you to grind harder, hustle, hustle, hustle; God tells you to be still, listen and trust Him. The only thing that requires is surrender, not spreadsheets. If you really knew the way, you’d already be there. So humble yourself, sister— become a fool for Christ and a student of His wisdom. .
“What advice am I following because it’s trendy? Does it line up with Scripture or culture?”
Practice Your Faith Without Wavering
Faith isn’t a vibe; it’s endurance training. Abraham waited decades for a child. Noah waited 120 years for rain in a world that had never seen a single drop fall from the sky. Joseph sat in prison for dreams that made absolutely no sense. Daniel prayed through prejudice and conspiracy. Ruth gleaned in fields before she was even noticed. Esther risked her life before she was crowned. Do you see the pattern? Faith always looks foolish before it’s fulfilled. But you have to trust that Father knows what He’s doing. So don’t flinch when the waiting feels endless and valley feels long and pointless. Practice your faith like they did: steady, stubborn, and sure that God’s timeline is still on time.
“Today, am I acting like someone who already trusted? How can I move one step forward in faith this week, even if I don’t feel ready?”
Write the Vision, But This Time, Do It With Christ
You’ve read the words. You’ve felt the stir. Now it’s time to act.
Your journal isn’t just a notebook—it’s a covenant. A contract between your dreams, your discipline, your faith and the One who called you. Write the vision and make it plain; but this time, do it and invite Christ.
Choose the version of your journal that feels most like you; hardcover, paperback, spiral, dotted, lined and even blank. Let it become your book of covenant, your faith journal, your map and mirror. The only restriction is It must be written with ink/pencil (not digital).
The question isn’t can you set goals? The question is have you invited God into them?
Stay faithful, stay quirky, and stay writing.
